Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about fees, neutrality, AI phone systems, networks, bill audits and how projects run.

Do you charge a fee?

No. The provider you choose pays my fee out of its own margin. You pay the provider's price, and there is no separate invoice from me.

If the provider pays you, how are you neutral?

Providers pay independent advisors at comparable rates, and I carry no inventory or quota. My recommendation does not change based on who pays.

What is an AI receptionist?

An AI assistant on your main number that answers every call, handles common questions, books appointments and transfers the rest to the right person with a written summary.

Will switching phone systems cost more than we pay now?

Many businesses pay about the same or less. AI features are included on some plans and add-ons on others, so I show the AI cost as its own line in every comparison.

Can we keep our phone numbers?

Yes. Numbers are ported to the new provider, and the porting timeline is part of the plan so there is no gap in service.

How does the free bill audit work?

Send two recent invoices from each carrier. I review them line by line and send back a findings list of charges that look wrong and what to do about each one.

What is AI cost governance?

Simple rules and reports that tie AI spending to results: who can turn on paid AI features, what usage to expect, where alerts fire and when a tool gets reviewed.

What is network as a service?

One provider designs, installs, owns and runs your wired network, Wi-Fi and security for a monthly subscription. Support and hardware refreshes are included, so there is no big equipment purchase every few years.

We already have Cisco, Meraki or Aruba. Do we have to replace it?

No. The best time to look is at a license renewal, a hardware end of life, a new location or a move. I compare network as a service against renewing what you have, and if renewing is the better deal, I'll tell you.

Which platforms do you work with?

The major cloud phone, contact center, network and connectivity providers. The shortlist depends on your requirements.

How long does a project take?

A small-business phone switch can take a few weeks. Contact center selections usually run three to nine months from discovery to go-live.

Where are you located?

Roy, Utah. I work with clients across the US, mostly by video, and on site in Utah when it helps.
