Zoom Phone vs RingCentral vs Dialpad for a 50-person firm
These three come up in almost every small-business phone conversation. All three can replace an office phone system. They differ in how they package AI, how they handle meetings and how far they grow into a contact center.
Features and packaging change often. I confirm current details in every quote.
| Zoom Phone | RingCentral RingEX | Dialpad | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best fit | Teams already living in Zoom Meetings who want phone in the same app | Businesses that need a mature phone system with many integrations | Teams that want AI built into every call from day one |
| AI call summaries | AI Companion, included with paid Zoom Workplace plans | RingCentral AI features; some included, some paid add-ons | Built in on core plans |
| AI receptionist | Zoom Virtual Agent, usually an add-on | AI Receptionist, sold as an add-on | AI agent options, usually an add-on |
| Meetings | Zoom Meetings, the strongest of the three | RingCentral Video included | Dialpad Meetings included |
| Contact center path | Zoom Contact Center | RingCX and RingCentral Contact Center | Dialpad contact center plans |
| Watch for | AI receptionist and contact center are separate purchases | Add-on pricing can change the total a lot; read the AI line items | Check integrations with your CRM and line-of-business apps |
Pick Zoom if
Your team already runs on Zoom Meetings and wants one app for calls, chat and video with AI summaries included.
Pick RingCentral if
You need deep integrations, a long feature list and a clear path to a full contact center.
Pick Dialpad if
AI on every call is the main reason you're switching and you want it without stacking add-ons.
What a 50-person comparison should include
Ask each provider for the same thing: 50 users, the AI features you actually want, the number of main lines and auto attendants, devices if you need desk phones, and a 36-month and a 12-month term. Then compare the monthly total, the one-time migration cost and the exit terms. I do this for you for free and show the AI cost as its own line.
Which one is cheapest?
It depends on the plan, the AI add-ons and the contract term. List prices change often, so I quote all three for your seat count and show the AI cost as its own line.
Can I switch later?
Yes, numbers can be ported. Contract length is the main constraint, which is why I look at term and exit terms in every comparison.
Why use an advisor instead of buying direct?
You get all three quotes side by side, including migration cost, from someone with no stake in which one you pick. The provider pays my fee.
